I'm Matt from "180 World". If you're here, you're probably wondering what this camera is, why I'm filming, and where you can watch the video. 😀
WHAT'S THE CAMERA?
This is a camera that records in stereoscopic 3D. It has a 180° horizontal field of view, which enables it to "see" quite a lot. And since there are two lenses (camera eyeballs), it captures depth.
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I WATCH THE VIDEOS?
Depending on the event, it typically takes me a few days or weeks to edit a video into something that's enjoyable to watch. When it's ready, it'll be available on the Videos page along with the other videos I've recorded throughout Colorado.
HOW MUCH PROFIT DO YOU MAKE?
Zero. I create and share the videos for free.
WHY DO YOU DO THIS?
There are several reasons:
- It's a way for mobile-challenged people to fully immerse themselves in experiences they might not normally experience otherwise.
- It's a way to preserve a cherished moment in time and for your family (even those who are out of state) to re-live it over and over as if it's happening right now.
- With the world changing so much, and kids growing up so fast, it's nice to slow down and capture the good moments while they last.
- It's a fun, little hobby that keeps me sane. Could've chosen to learn how to knit and crochet, but this is the rabbit hole I fell into. 🙃
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO WATCH THEM?
For the best viewing experience, a virtual reality (VR) headset is highly recommended. It's like wearing extra large ski goggles that have two small TVs in them (one for each eye), and it makes you feel like you're standing right there in the middle of the action!
You'll see the video in stereoscopic 3D, and you can move your head to look around. The sound is also recorded in surround sound using four microphones to provide more immersion.

HOW MUCH DOES A "VR" HEADSET COST?
A virtual reality (VR) headset costs $300 for Meta Quest 3S ("good"), $500 for Meta Quest 3 ("better"), or $3,500 for Apple Vision Pro ("best").
As VR becomes more popular and technology improves, the price is expected to come down. Fortunately, it can do more than just play videos. Whether or not it's worth the cost is up to you.
HOW DO I WATCH THEM WITHOUT A HEADSET?
If you don't have a VR headset, no problem! You can still watch them on YouTube, but they won't be immersive or in 3D.
