Playback frame rate: 90
Color Management
Color science: DaVinci YRGB
Timeline color space: DaVinci WG/Intermediate
Output color space: P3-D65 ST2084 1000 nits
[x] HDR mastering is for 1000 nits
Still to write:
- Timecode (with Tentacle Sync) — install the app on phone and press Sync.
- Ambisonic / spatial audio — install the plug-in.
- Denoising with Nice Video.
- Outputting SDR at 60 FPS for Quest.
- Drop the lift and set highlights to −70.
Import media
Import files into the Media Pool, preserving the file structure. Set Clip Attributes → Audio → Ambisonic.
Add media to the timeline
After creating the timeline, leave 2 full seconds of empty nothingness before the beginning. Apple Vision Pro starts playing the video while it deconstructs the user interface and fades out; those two seconds let it settle. Then fade in the first clip for 2 seconds.

Set up nodes for color management
Fairlight: set up busses for ambisonics, voiceovers, special effects, etc.
The following information comes from this excellent T2F video:
Color page nodes
- Node 1: Color Space Transform — CST in. Input: Blackmagic Design Wide Gamut Gen 4 / 5 + Blackmagic Design Film Gen 5. Output: Use timeline.
- Node 2: Color Space Transform — PQ. Input: Use timeline. Output: P3-D65, ST2084.
- Node 3: Color Space Transform — 250 nits. P3-D65 / ST2084 in → out. Use Custom Max. Output = 250 nits.
- Node 4: Color Space Transform — 108 nits. P3-D65 / ST2084 in → out. Use Custom Max. Output = 108 nits.
When color grading on a monitor, enable Node 3 and disable Node 4. When delivering to AVP, disable Node 3 and enable Node 4. While editing, adjust Adaptation per clip. Do color grading between Nodes 1 and 2.
Timeline-level (post-clip) HDR-to-SDR for Meta Quest
I want my videos viewable on Meta Quest as well as Apple Vision Pro, so I add a timeline-level node that converts HDR to SDR.
Node 1: Color Space Transform
Input Color Space: P3-D65
Input Gamma: ST2084
Output Color Space: Rec.709
Output Gamma: Gamma 2.4
